A Wider Angle

Just thoughts and responses which I would otherwise forget. Who knows they maybe interesting or even remind us of great ideas we once had...

Reflections from BETT

I had two great days at BETT and met a huge range of interesting people who work in education from across the world. Apparently there were more international visitors on the Wednesday and Thursday. Friday was packed with teachers from the UK and Saturday was very quiet.

Can you spot Paul Foster?

Infact it was not quite as quiet as the picture above suggests... this was before it opened on Saturday... can you see Paul Foster catching up with his mail before the rush!

The best part of being at BETT was being able to gauge the interest in film making in schools. I reckon 90% of people I spoke to had understanding or knowledge of the opportunities film making offered education whilst at least 50% were already making films at one level or another. There was some really useful feedback on the FFL site from people and genuine excitement about the opportunities FFL offers in particular regarding the website being safe and free!  BETT has a vast variety of product…. Some really exciting with obvious benefits for education and many others seem rather ‘old hat’. Personalisation seemed to be the theme of the day… but you have to wonder whether some companies actually understand what Personalisation is beyond a marketing slogan!
