1. ELIGIBILITY:
This competition is open to any teacher or student
resident in the UK. Students are responsible for
seeking the permission of their parents/guardians and schools as

2. TO ENTER:
Entry into this competition may be made by visiting
www.filmsforlearning.org (“Website”) and submitting a film. Then send an e-mail to info@filmsforlearning.org with your name, the title of your film, your teacher’s name, school name, age group, email address, teacher’s email address. Multiple entries from schools, teams and
individual students will be accepted. Entry constitutes full and
unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Films for Learning reserves the right to disqualify anyone in breach of these Terms and
Conditions.
3. ENTRY SUBMISSIONS:
Entry submissions for Film Competition shall include a film that is
uploaded to www.filmsforlearning.org. All entry elements must be
original. Please refer to ‘copyright note’ below. Entries may be made
in any subject area or category.
- Teams may consist of up to six students plus two teachers per team.
- Films must be a maximum of 1 (one) minute including any titles and end credits.
- Films
must be original work and should not infringe copyright. Where
copyrighted material is used, written permission must be held by the
school and credited appropriately in the film’s credits. Copyright free
or Creative Commons music may be used but must also be credited.
- A copy of a signed parental permission form for each student must be held by the school.
- Films should demonstrate something to learn, an aspect of learning or learning taking place.
- Films must be submitted via the submit a film page on www.filmsforlearning.org
- Files should be WMV, MP4 or MOV video files
- Files should have a minimum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.
- Files should not be larger than 120Mb in size
- Only films submitted after the start date/timewill be considered. Submissions to this site prior to the start date or after the end date are not acceptable for entry.
4. TIMING: This competition runs from 12:01 a.m. May 01st, 2009 to 11:59 p.m. on the 20th September, 2009.
5. USE OF DATA:
Personal data which you provide when you enter this competition may be
used for future Films for Learning campaign activities only. We will not share your data with any third party organisations.
6. SELECTION OF WINNERS: The initial shortlist of likely winners
of this Film Competition will be determined through selection by Mark Richardson and Peter Roe of Films for Learning. The final selection of winners will be made by the above named and an independent judge who will be announced before the closure of this competition.
For all films, the judges will be looking for
outstanding work from contributors in many areas that could include
cinematography, direction, innovation, creativity and originality. They
will be looking to see whether the film content is well structured and
holds the viewers interest; whether it uses techniques and features
such as use of language or animation in a relevant way; whether the
film is technically proficient and well edited, makes good use of
styles and conventions; and is age/audience appropriate.
The shortlist of films will be announced on www.filmsforlearning.org on September 30th, 2008.
The
winner(s) will then be announced on the Films for Learning website on October 15th and each winner will also be notified by email on this same
date.
7. PRIZES:
There will be a main prize of a 1 x Digital Video Camera for the overall winner. Additional individual prizes which include, 1 x Sony Digital Personal Media Player; 10 x Microsoft LiveCam VX-7000 web cam; A Memory Stick will be awarded to all film entries subject to the claim conditions being met. Only 1 (one) prize will be awarded per film.
8.
Prizes are as stated and non transferable. No cash or other
alternatives available. Films for Learning reserves the right to substitute a
prize of equal or greater value. The prizes will be sent by registered post by the end of October 2009. Memory sticks will be sent as films are uploaded.
9. WINNERS LIST:
The winner(s) consent to their school name being made publicly
available.
10. OTHER:
No correspondence will be entered into regarding either this
competition or these Terms and Conditions. In the unlikely event of a
dispute, FfL’s decision shall be final. FfL reserves the
right to amend, modify, cancel or withdraw this competition at any time
without notice
